The Perfect Storm

Well, as most of you know ... Buffalo was hit with a whopper of a storm last Thursday. My car was practically hidden under almost two feet of snow, and that was just in my area alone. It took me three hours (with breaks in between) to shovel it out and to clear a spot in my driveway because it wasn't the nice fluffy snow, it was the wet, heavy snow. I had to take it on in layers, first the top, then the middle, then the slushy wet bottom. Being with out power over the weekend wasn't so bad, I got to hang out with some close friends and family. BUT, it's going on the fifth day now and I am still without power (so are over 200,000 other people I called NYSEG and the "estimated" time for me to have power back on is 10 p.m. tomorrow night. Whoo hooo! It's funny how we take the luxury of power for granted. It isn't until situations like these arise that we realize just how lucky we really are (and dependent). I am glad that I have good friends and family to shack up with while all of this is going on though.

Here are some pics of the storm that rocked Buffalo. of course, it's only October ... what's coming in the winter months ahead????

Boyz II Men

"Never skipped a beat, while coolin on Charles St ..."

So I went to see my fav. group in concert last night and let me just say it was the best concert I have ever been to! I was able to get some good seat (9th row from the stage) and it was quite an experience to actually see an artist up close and performing. The venue was also smaller than a normal concert venue so it was a more intimate show. They did some new stuff (new album coming out in Feb. 2007) and some classics of course. AND, I made a bold move and approached the stage at one point, I got to shake Nate's hand!

I've never been that close to a celebrity before, let alone been able to actually touch one. I was like a little kid in a toy store, and I couldn't stop smiling the entire time. I am so glad that I decided to get tickets and see them perform.

In other news, I've been freelancing more which is great for my wallet. Looks like I have a couple more projects to do for Gelia, Wells and Mohr and then I have an interview next week with someone from Travers Collins. So life, keep em' coming. If you happen to be readin this and you need a freelance writer for your project or company, please feel free to e-mail me. I have a very reasonable rate and great references.

Other than that .. Boyz II Men, Abc, BBD ... MMMHMMMMMM ....
